This is the official website for the American Homesteading Foundation (AHF) of Melbourne Village, Florida. The purpose of this website is to provide a place where Villagers can go for news and information about our community. It also serves to support the existing bulletin board and printed newsletters. Hopefully in the future, this website will include a searchable archive of historic documents and photos, past newletters, public records, meeting minutes, maps, calendar of events, member directory, and more. This site is always under construction and YOU are the builder! This is YOUR website - YOUR comments and input are always welcome and strongly encouraged.

The AHF is a non-profit organization founded in 1946 by Virginia Wood, Elizabeth Nutting, and Margaret Hutchison, whose goal was to build a community from the ground up, of like-minded folks wanting to establish a lifestyle that was simple and close to nature. That goal was acheived and is still thriving today, over 60 years later!
