The all-volunteer army of citizens that serve on our 17 standing committees are the life blood of the AHF. Villagers are encouraged to serve on one or more committees at some point. There is no better way to meet your neighbors, serve your community, and join in the fellowship that makes Melbourne Village such a unique place to live. Annual Meeting Committee This committee really gets into gear around January when they begin planning for the Annual Meeting and Annual Dinner in mid-March. The past few themes were "The 1950's" (56th), "Italian" (57th), "Mexican" (58th), "Chinese" (59th), "All-American" (60th), "Picnic in the Park" (61st), and "Pirates of the Caribbean" (62nd), and "Medieval Feast" (63rd). We are always looking for good ideas for next year's dinner. Responsibility pursuant to AFH By-laws: Shall be responsible for preparation and programming of the Annual Meeting and any special meeting of the membership, including the Agenda, Mailing, Meeting Arrangements, Resolutions and Annual Dinner. Organization meeting and concentrated effort ending mid-March. Helpful qualities in members would be organizational ability, experience using caterers, creativity - program design, decor, theme, enthusiam and energy. Budget & Finance Committee: Responsibilities include make recommendations concerning financing and expenditures to the Board; see that all expenditures comply with the by-laws and the annual budget; keep a record of the monthly finances through the budget comparison; hold a Budget Hearing in October of each year; present to the Board, for the Regular Meeting in January, the names of at leat 2 eligible AHF member to serve as the Auditing Committee. Qualifications include business, accounting, financial planning skills and experience.

Parks & Paths Committee: meets 1st Monday of every month, 7:30 pm, AHF Committee
Swimming Pool Committee
Recreation Committee
Codification Committee: to organize the records of Board meetings by subject in order that the information can be referenced easily.
Credentials Committee: verifies the eligibility of balllots in the Trustee elections and any special elections. They also handle the registration for the annual meeting.
Education Committee: plan the children's summer program and review applications for the Annual Ruth B. Hayes Scholarship.
House Committee: monitors and maintains the kitchen equipment.
Nominating Committee: develops a slate of candidates for the annual Board of Trustee's election and then again for the 17 standing committees.
Tellers Committee: counts eligible ballots for all the elections.
