News A Landmark Entrance to Deerhead Hammock, featuring two majestic old live oak trees, near the corner of Hammock Road and Live Oak Avenue is a new project, spearheaded by Mike Smith. A site has been selected and plans designed for the Melbourne Village Memorial Oak Project. A live oak tree will be planted in the Memorial Oak Circle, located in the southwest corner of Nutting-Wood Green, southwest of the ball field, near Norman Drive. The Memorial Project is being funded by the Robinson Memorial Fund Lots of time and energy was donated by Mike & Sandra Smith, Bob & Frances Davis, and Bob & Evelyn Winburn, when the three couples created 109 hand-crafted cardinals and used them to identify the entrance to our AHF parks & paths. The posts were all painted and rotten ones were replaced last year as an Eagle Scout project.
